AGRIGENTO (ITALPRESS) – Un incendio, la notte scorsa, è divampato sul traghetto Cossyra, in navigazione da Lampedusa a Porto Empedocle, con a bordo 177 persone, di cui 150 passeggeri e 27 membri dell’equipaggio. Sul posto, sotto il coordinamento del Centro operativo nazionale della Guardia Costiera, sono intervenute una motovedetta SAR di Lampedusa e nave Diciotti, che hanno effettuato le operazioni di trasbordo dal traghetto e messo in sicurezza tutti i passeggeri, tra cui anche 83 migranti in trasferimento dall’isola. Nave Diciotti ha operato in assetto anti incendio, raffreddando con getti d’acqua le parti del traghetto investite dalle fiamme. In tutto 147 persone, tra cui donne e bambini, sono attualmente a bordo di nave Diciotti e giungeranno in sicurezza a Porto Empedocle, mentre 3 passeggeri verranno trasferiti con la motovedetta SAR 324 a Lampedusa. L’incendio è avvenuto nella sala macchine dell’unità. La nave, sulla quale vi sono ancora membri dell’equipaggio, impossibilitata a proseguire la navigazione, verrà rimorchiata in porto nelle prossime ore. Fino ad allora una motovedetta della Guardia Costiera di Lampedusa rimarrà in assistenza. vbo
